Modem (Modulator, DeModulator) - A device used to connect computer to an analog phone line
Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) - Standard format for attaching non-text files, such as graphics and spreadsheets, to text-based e-mail messages.
Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI, pronounced middee) - A format for music files universally understood by sound cards; provides a protocol for transforming music into digital data and vice versa.

Netiquette - Slang for unwritten rules of Internet courtesy.
Netizen - Slang for a frequent Internet user.
Network - Two or more computers connected together so they can share resources.
Node - Any single computer connected to a network.
Node Address - Name or number identifying a specific computer on a network; dial-up PPP via FIRN assigns a temporary node address.
NIC - The Network Information Center.

ODI (Open Data-link Interface) - A standard interface for a type of device driver that allows multiple transport protocols to run on one network card at the same time.
